MONEY® magazine knows best. And its 2007 selection of the City of Ridgeland as one of the “100 Best Places to Live” in the U.S. speaks volumes about the many benefits our city has to offer. Ridgeland is one of just two cities in Mississippi to make the prestigious list, and ranked highest of the two.
Even with this high-profile national attention, Ridgeland just may be one of the best-kept secrets in the Southeast. Advantageously situated just north of Mississippi’s capital city, Ridgeland offers a thriving economy; high quality schools; safe, friendly neighborhoods; and ample public recreational opportunities. Yet all the while it has managed to maintain much of its small town charm. In fact, the coexistence of close-knit family values and urban-style opportunities may well be the key to Ridgeland’s multigenerational appeal.
This unique dichotomy didn’t go unnoticed by the writers at MONEY, as the 2007 list sought out “smaller places that offered the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community.” As you might imagine, we think they are right on the money.
Putting Our Best Foot Forward
In light of this recognition, we’re helping spread the word with a coordinated communications program designed to bring MONEY magazine’s designation to the attention of residents of Ridgeland, our neighbors across the state of Mississippi, and beyond.
Via both print ads and a TV commercial, our promotional campaign features Ridgeland citizens who are quintessential examples of the city’s slogan, “We do more (Business, Living & Entertaining) in Ridgeland.” A successful restaurateur, Andy Cook; an elementary school principal, Kathy Rigsby; and a long-established real estate developer, Bucky Gideon, each promote the virtues of Ridgeland in the context of their particular expertise and experience.
We wholeheartedly echo their sentiments: the City of Ridgeland brings out the best in us all! |
