Coziar Family: House & HouseDescription

The home was built by Ray Coziar in 1948 and was torn down in the late 1980’s to make room for a
subdivision. The house was located on S. Wheatley a half mile south of Lake Harbor Road. It was on 40
acres that Mr. Coziar bought from Mr. Coffee for $3,000. Mr. Coziar drew the blueprint and did most of
the construction himself. They lived in this house until 1960, when he was transferred by the U.S.
Department of Agriculture to Los Angeles, California. Prior to building this house they lived in a two
story farmhouse on S. Wheatley for 6 years. They tried to buy the house that was owned by Mrs.
Schluter who lived in Jackson. Mrs. Schluter was unwilling to sell.
